A week escape to the kingdom of ornaments and colors to bask in the sun rays, surf endless peelers, meditate to the sound of surf, and skate perfect roads. We will settle in a corner so magic we almost wanted to keep it to ourselves in the beginning. But they say happiness is only real when shared, so we invite you to come along!
This trip is composed to be a rich, intense experience, where you definitely won't have time to check your phone and where the moments of rest will taste as sweet as honey. Especially, when rocking gently in a hammock overlooking the bay blazing with sunset colors!
Julia on her cornerstone principles of working:
Less is more and simplicity shapes the way I teach and the way I practice myself. The only thing required is your body and the curiosity to explore.
Unlearning is the base for moving with an open mind and a relaxed body. Deconstructing old patterns in a group setting creates space for new flows and allows you to see your body and mind in a completely different shade.
Every human is unique and deserves a customized practice, that targets their specific needs. In my classes I work with young children, students in their seventies, competitive athletes, parcours artists, fighters, surfers and climbers as well as with persons who suffer from an injury or want to lose weight and get more toned.
Movement is a human need and with every single class I try to create a safe space, that allows my students to find satisfaction and joy throughout free movement.

olo surf nature
For this trip, we are honored to partner with Olo Surf Nature - a surf holiday company born from the wish to share the passion for authentic surfing and environmental awareness. Their Idea is to preserve the spirit of the golden age of surfing off the beaten tracks, contra to commercial clichés of surf-marketing.
Our home from home - Tayourt House
Tayourt Lodge, one of the Olo´s houses, is the ultimate surf shack. Etched with stoke and good vibes, you’re sure to have a pleasant stay in this beach-view (hell of a view!!!) accommodation. Located in the heart of The Magic Bay and the town’s village, Tayourt was one of the first houses in Imsouane, built by the first travelers for the local fishermen. As part of that tradition, we have kept the house as original as possible, in order for guests to feel the tranquillity and simplicity of people who have lived by the sea for generations.
It is important to know that the house has only two bathrooms, so whichever accommodation you opt for, you’ll have to share :) Sorry, it’s Morocco! So, in case you are an ultimate comfort seeker or a squeamish type, maybe it’s better you skip this adventure!
SURFING
We will be staying just atop the Magic Bay which provides ideal surf conditions for everyone. Its orientation offers different types of waves, working with swells in all directions. Imsouane topography carves four distinct surf spots, with waves for every level and type of surfer. Surf your longest wave in The Bay or shred your shortboard at Cathedral under a colorful African sunset.
WHAT TO EXPECT: The ocean is always in control, and for this reason, safety is our top priority. From surf safety in the water and ocean awareness theory, Olo’s instructors will always make sure that you are feeling comfortable in the water while having an unforgettable surfing experience in our surfing paradise.
Here is an example of a typical Surf Lesson (2 hours):
● Introduction with the students and the instructor (мax 5 students per instructor)
● Goals of the day & surf spot analysis (understanding the conditions of the day to make you feel safer)
● Theory of the surf basics (stance, take-off, balance, turns, paddling, timing etc.)
● Surf safety (How to fall, to protect yourself, surfing étiquette, etc..)
● Warm-up
● Actual practice in the water - yay!
● Feedback at the end of the lesson
YOGA
house
Move freely, enjoy your flow, unwind your mind and body: in her yoga/movement fusion classes Julia combines elements of traditional Hatha and Ashtanga yoga with core building, pilates and movement patterns from gymnastics with dance. Every class is a surprise and will help you to reconnect with your body, discover your hidden abilities and get lost in effortless play.
The classes are suitable for every level. No matter, if you practice yoga on a daily basis orif is your first time — every single posture comes with a variation, that suits your level. Guided breathing exercises and meditation relieve stress, anxiety and offer great benefits for tricky situations at work, in college or during a long session in the ocean.
Oh, and did we mention THE view?
LONGBOARD LESSONS
Well, what to say here...it's super fun! Easier than a skateboard and with that surfy-cruisy feeling and your favorite tune on - it just cannot get any sweeter. For surfers, it's hard to think of a more effective and entertaining cross-training than longboarding: boost your balance, improve your turning and pumping, and practice those steezy steps you can then take on water!
During the trip, we will have two longboard sessions (1h 15 min each) that are oriented at first-timers, beginners and intermediates. We will work on the base - stance, pushing, breaking and turning and get the first tricks going! All the necessary equipment is included.
FOOD
Kick-start your day with a healthy and delicious brekkie that you can savor while watching the waves rolling smoothly just before you...Bread, pastries, tea & coffee, fresh juice, muesli, fruits, smoothies, jams, cheese, and amlou - because a proper slow breakfast is one of the most important things on holidays!
As for lunch & dinner, we will enjoy a traditional Moroccan style menu with vegetable/fish/chicken tagines, fresh local fish, salads, couscous and more - all cooked and served with love for you!
We also take into consideration your alimentary restrictions and diets (vegetarian, vegan, lactose-free).
IMSOUANE
Morocco
Imsouane is a tiny fisherman village known worldwide and located in one of the most beautiful bays in Africa - The Magic Bay - which offers cool weather all year long and the longest rides in Morocco. When the conditions align, prepare yourself for 300-meter rights!
We especially loved this Moroccan corner for is its remoteness that comes with a slow pace of living, the population made of only locals and surfers, and the tides that turned into the main reference of time.
IMportant details
Travel Insurance
Please, note that we do not offer any insurance for surf lessons, longboard lessons, and yoga classes during the camp, neither we are responsible for any other accidents that may occur during your holiday. This said, for the participation in this camp it is OBLIGATORY to have your personal travel insurance that covers participation in the activities of the camp.
Training spot
Even though we spoke about this aspect above, we find it important to emphasize it:
even though Imsouane has wonderful, long perfect roads, they remain active roads. There is hardly any traffic but there will be a few cars passing by now and then, very slowly, and most of the roads have always a subtle inclination. In other words, there is no specialized training area as such, but hey, we are in a little village in Morocco! Ourselves, we spent countless hours longboarding with the local kids during our trip to Imsouane and it was
Transfers
The transfers included in your stay are from/to Essaouira and Agadir and are grouptransfers, which means there will be a fixed hour for them - one in the morning and one in the evening if necessary. For a little additional fee (10-15 eur) we can arrange a transfer to/from Marrakesh as long as you are 3 or more persons. The issue of transfer is better to be discussed closer to date in a common Facebook chat that we will create.
